Where the tree sits on your property is the single biggest cost driver. A front-yard tree with open street access is far simpler than one deep in a fenced backyard or wedged between structures in a narrow sideyard. Backyard and sideyard trees often require hand-carry of debris, longer rigging paths, and more crew time — all of which add up. Let us know the tree's location when you request your estimate so we can plan the most efficient approach.
One of the biggest cost drivers in any removal job. Taller trees require more rigging setups, longer crew time, and heavier equipment. An 80-ft cottonwood may take a full day with a large crew; a 20-ft ornamental is often a few hours. Trunk diameter also matters — wider trunks take more time to cut, handle, and haul.
Trees growing over or against structures can't simply be felled — every section must come down under controlled rigging to protect what's below. This adds both time and a higher skill requirement. The closer the tree to your home, the more critical ISA-certified technique becomes.
Getting equipment to the tree is half the battle. A narrow gate, steep slope, or cluttered yard can prevent large machinery from reaching the work area — requiring smaller tools, more hand-carry, and significantly longer job times. Mention any access concerns when you request your estimate so we plan the right equipment from the start.
Some jobs can be completed with climbers and hand tools alone. Others — particularly large trees near structures — require a bucket truck or crane, which adds mobilization cost. We bring in exactly what the job needs; your written estimate will note the required equipment so there are no surprises.
Spring and fall are our busiest seasons — late winter or midsummer typically offers faster scheduling. Emergency work is always prioritized regardless of season, though it carries a premium over standard scheduled jobs.
